Internal communications
NHS North Bristol NHS Trust
We gave their employee magazine a new lease of life
Client snapshot
North Bristol NHS Trust has a major transformation project in place to build a new multi-million pound hospital. The Trust’s employee magazine ‘Insite’ needed to communicate these changes.
The brief
To modernise this quarterly magazine, create a more engaging style, communicate the Trust’s key messages clearly and help build a greater sense of belonging among the 9,500 employees.
How we tackled it
Thorough planning led to us creating a clear structure and signposting to different sections of the magazine. New, easy to read content included more of a dialogue approach, with employees questions’ answered and feedback from patients. Features were also introduced which will go on to become regular items, such as a diary section so employees know what’s coming up. A comic strip feature and quizzes give the magazine another dimension, adding a touch of fun.
The outcome
1,200 copies of the new Insite were distributed via internal mail, plus 9,500 electronic copies sent out to the staff database. The magazine was also made available on the intranet. Insite now has a clear, easier to follow template for future issues.
